Dana Perino to find success Businessman

Fortunately, for us, these days there is a lot of happening in the world, so this week it will happen as a podcast guest, who had the world in the world to sit down and talk and relax.

That, race is not true, but we got it anyway! Very busy Dana Perino organizes two daily programs on Fox News Channel (US editor and Five), People surround people and write books of leaders, all in their pointless free time.

Her new book, I wish someone told meShe is now out, and she joined us to share her career advice with anyone who chased a dream, its evolving definition of success, and the only habit she wanted to break. You can listen to the whole episode here or on your selection platform and read the most important points below that have been modified for length and clarity.

I love the name of your new book and I have to wonder if it refers to someone warning when he first sat down next to Greg Gutfeld 11 years ago.
More about Greg Gutfeld later! One of the things on this new book I like is this connection with my mom. My previous book, Everything will be finewas specific to young women. I feel it to my mom before it breaks out, and she said, “Masters, I wish someone told me.” So this is a reference to my mom who came to the workforce after college in 1965. These women paved the way for us others. They were pioneers in the workforce.

Why did you decide to write this book?
I do a lot of mentoring. And I realized that the advice I was talking about lied to years of years. So now not, “What should I study at college?” It’s “How can I get promotion?” “How do I deal with my finances?” “How can I start downloading?” So I knew I needed to be a refreshed and updated mentoring book, but I also knew I didn’t absolutely have all the answers. So I went to various friends and colleagues, people I have known all my life, from my college room to people like Greg Gutfeld, who is cheerful, but also has amazing and wise advice.

How do you define success? And has it evolved over the years?
I grew up in Wyoming and Colorado and do not come from money, I do not come from politics. I had an ambition. I wanted to achieve things. And I was afraid of my 1920s. And one of my great hopes is for people who want a list of this podcast, or if it is a book, is that you realize that if you are an educated American you have already acquired Life’s Great Lottery. So then you decide what you want to do about it. Initially my degree of success: “Can I pay my accounts?” And then it happens, “Can I help people?” And then it is about finding peace, with a continued desire to learn and be curious. And be grateful.

What advice does you really excel?
My very popular council in this book is that the decision to be loved is not a decision of a limiting career. Almost all the people who mentor ask me, “How can I meet someone?” Or some of them have long -distance relationships, but do not leave their work. I understand that. But I really believe it may not be a decision of a career, if you decide to be with this person. I served as a print secretary of the White House in the administration George W. Bush and left Capitol Hill to go and live with my husband in England. That didn’t destroy my career. In fact, so much of what is achieved is because I had Peter to help me. I just want to emphasize people who make a jump.

What is the habit that you are grateful and the one you wish to go there?
I am very good at awakening and I am ready to go iMacy. I have no problem. I don’t need coffee. I wish I could break my phone’s habit. I recently developed a thumb injury from moving on my phone so much. So that’s a habit I would like to break!
